We clean modern and vintage toys daily - these can often be booked quite quickly in between our more complex work. Years of cuddling and hugs take their toll and teddy can harbour quite a lot of dust and bacteria.

🫧A good clean can help any teddy/toy to last a lot more years and reduce further damage to their fabric. Some toys made in the 1960s and 1970s have old foam crumb fillings which as they break down, turn to a ‘sand like’ dusty substance which often comes through the fur fabric and can cause problems for asthma sufferers and children if inhaled.

☁️After a deep clean, new filling means that not only does your teddy bear or toy has stuffing that is compliant with today's British Toy Safety standards, but also gives them back that fresh, bouncy softness and makes Teddy cuddly again.

Teddy & Toy faux fur can get heavily matted, or can melt in the tumble drier 🙈 We have a great method of reversing this after washing, so that they can be fluffy again - almost like new!

Flat bodies/limbs and floppy heads are often due to stuffing compacting over time in both modern and vintage toys, they can be topped-up in any section with a like-for-like approach.

Teddy bear restoration takes many hours of careful, intricate work, is completed fully by hand, and is tailored specifically to the Client brief and to the individual teddy bear or toy. Some fabrics might be very delicate and will require prep work or stabilising before we can start work to repair them.

We use traditional methods of cleaning and repair to maintain the appearance of the original Teddy Bear and not to make them look like 'new', but simply the best version of themselves.
Only in extreme circumstances will we replace fillings with something softer in the best interests of your teddy bear or vintage toy.
