We clean modern and vintage toys daily - these can often be booked quite quickly in between our more complex work. Years of cuddling and hugs take their toll and teddy can harbour quite a lot of dust and bacteria.

A good clean can help any teddy/toy to last a lot more years and reduce further damage to their fabric. Some toys made in the 60s/70s have old foam fillings which can be toxic as they break down, and some dry foams turn to a ‘sand like’ dusty substance which can leach through the fur and can cause problems for asthma sufferers and children. After any clean, new filling gives back that fresh, bouncy softness and makes Teddy cuddly again. Teddy & Toy faux fur can get matted, we have a great method of reversing this after washing, so that they can be fluffy again, almost like new!

Repairs can be anything from a missing eye, a broken seam, damaged paws or feet, replacement joints, arms off or a broken head… you name it we’ve probably seen it!
Flat bodies/limbs and floppy heads are often due to stuffing compacting over time in both modern and vintage toys, they can be topped-up in any section with a like-for-like approach.

Vintage Teddies have huge sentimental value, often with many memories attached. They have character and charm that needs to be respected and we are here to help bring them back to life with a sympathetic approach, designed uniquely for your cherished Teddy Bear.

Restoration takes many hours of careful work, is completed fully by hand and is tailored to the Client brief and individual Teddy. Some fabrics might be very delicate and will require prep work or stabilising before we can start work to repair them.

We use traditional methods of cleaning and repair to maintain the appearance of the original Teddy Bear and not to make them look like 'new', but simply the best version of themselves.
Only in extreme circumstances will we replace fillings with something softer in the best interests of your bear/toy.
